For weeks sash had been asking me to get my ass out of chennai during weekends because I've really been out of action for a long while. He had a good reason to be annoyed each time I turned down his plans of vacationing because he has'nt really taken his car out on a long drive ever since he bought it. So it all started over a drunk conversation on a friday night when there was a sudden plan made to go to Pondicherry the following day, with a very simple agenda in mind... To get his car to clock some miles and for us to tank up in Pondy (you'll know what that means if ur a chennaiite ). I had promised sash that this historic trip (first ever for his car) would be remembered in my blog and would be the first in a series of trips planned for this year..So here are the pictures:
That's the first picture taken in this trip... As you can see we have the words "hangover" written all over our faces thanks to the previous nights binge.
Sash at the wheel, concentrating hard trying to navigate the crazy ECR traffic. What follows are pictures of what one can call the ECR experience that you go through every time you take this road. It fascinates me how each time you take this road the experience is different than what you would've felt in earlier trips... something about the ECR i guess!
A stretch of about 2 kms where avenue trees gracefully arch over the road.. a treat to drive through.
We finally arrive in Pondicherry beach, it's a lazy and sunny afternoon. The yellows and whites of the old french buildings that line this beach accentuate the mood of relaxation.
The Ajantha Hotel that sits comfortably on the Pondicherry beach... Its got a cozy little pub from which you get a great view of the sea outside.. Once in a while you get to see a school of dolphins jumping around in the water reflecting the mood that you will mostly experience while in Pondy beach.
Sash with his Pentax SLR capturing the essence of the beach through his lenses.
I am very vocal about my love for beer!!
The beautiful coastline of Pondicherry.
